Vancouver (June 9, 2015) – Optigo Networks was recognized as one of the best and brightest emerging companies in BC’s tech industry, as it took home the Most Promising Startup Award at the 22nd annual BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) Technology Impact Awards (TIAs) last week. Optigo was honoured alongside Sierra Wireless (Company of the Year) and BuildDirect’s Jeff Booth, (Person of the Year).

Optigo CEO Pook-Ping Yao collected the coveted award from Amrik Virk, Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Service at BC’s largest celebration of tech with over 1,000 people across BC’s technology and business community in attendance. “Congratulations to Optigo Networks for taking home the award for Most Promising Startup,” said Minister Virk. “You are a leading example of a made-in-B.C. success story, and I look forward to supporting your future ventures.”

The TIAs honour excellence across BC’s technology industry by celebrating the success of top companies, people and innovation in the province. The Most Promising Startup award acknowledges an early-stage technology company that is generating revenue, and which demonstrates significant potential, creativity and promise for the future.

“Optigo is humbled to be recognized on the same stage with companies like Sierra Wireless and BuildDirect who are pillars in our vibrant and growing tech community”, said Yao. “I’d like to share this honour with those who have been instrumental in helping us succeed, including our Board and our investors. We also wouldn’t be where we are today without programs and initiatives like the Venture Acceleration Program out of VentureLabs and the support of the BCTIA.”
