Every March for the last few years at Optigo, we’ve taken a moment to celebrate women in tech and building automation. If you didn’t know, March marks Women’s History Month, and March 8th is International Women’s Day.
In 2017, we celebrated Monica, our former Director of Marketing who could talk BACnet with the best of them.
In 2018, we put the spotlight on Maria, Linda, and Natalie, three women from the business, development, and marketing departments at Optigo.
In 2019, we asked five women in the Building Automation Systems (BAS) industries about their experiences. It was incredible to hear their stories, and we were thrilled to feature them on our website.
This year, we worked with Ken and Jane Sinclair at Automated Buildings to host a “takeover,” featuring some of the amazing women in the industry. We solicited articles from female-identifying professionals across BAS and got a huge response.
These fantastic articles highlight the wide range of perspectives already in the industry, and how important it is to nurture that diversity. Our thanks to Ken and Jane for championing and providing space for these conversations.
Read on, and look to Monica’s article “Why you should hire women — and how to get started” for more inspiration and direction.
