In 2018, we really dug into educating and inspiring our community about BACnet. We made it a priority to produce whitepapers and webinars that highlight the benefits of the protocol, and emphasize its significance as a foundation for our smart buildings. We also sought to challenge dominant perspectives and encourage debate. Our whitepapers on why you should adopt BACnet and the future of BACnet were widely read by everyone from technicians to executives, and from building owners to integrators and manufacturers.
“The BACnet International Annual Awards provide an opportunity to recognize individuals and companies who through their hard work and dedication continually enrich the BACnet community,” Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International, said in the press release. “They consistently go above and beyond to make BACnet an effective and successful building automation standard and we are proud to acknowledge them.”
Many of our blog posts and webinars also honed in on the topic of BACnet, covering why BACnet matters for building owners, illustrating our complex industry map, and helping people solve BACnet problems. We dug into the future of BACnet in a webinar with Andy McMillan, Phil Zito, Adam Rinderle, and our own Pook-Ping Yao. And we asked important questions about how IoT will disrupt the buildings of today and our smart buildings of tomorrow, and whether our industry is truly building IoT ready.
In 2018, we set out to cover every perspective, every angle of BACnet that we could. Looking back at all the content we produced, we certainly did that. We are so grateful for all the individuals who took the time to engage with us through interviews, taking part in webinars, providing feedback, and so much more.
Thank you to BACnet International for this recognition, and to our community for their enthusiasm and support.
